Because we are water

“Up to 60% of the human adult body is water” 

We spring into life with a gurgle and trickle

bounce among boulders, give trout a tickle

and when the foss is upon us, we tumble and shout

we’re noisy and flashy and sometimes splash out.

With friends we flow fast and take what we might

We’re water, we’re moving. This is our right.

And when, as we slow and think of the end,

we let down our load and broaden and bend.

The ocean at last will ease all of our pains …

And then comes the miracle. 

It rains.

Because we are water.
